Josh Rose was awarded a presidential scholarship to Harvard University, and was graduated with an M.S.W. from the University of Southern California, and a B.A from the University of Michigan. He studied systems theory and Structural Family Therapy under the past president of the Minuchin Center for the Family, George Simon, LMFT. Josh has completed an externship in trauma under Bessel van der Kolk, MD, been certified in two evidence-based child behavior treatment modalities (BSFT and MDFT), and studied EMDR, as well as Internal Family Systems. He has served as Executive Director of a Richmond, CA-based clinic focused on immigrant counseling, and served as Associate Director to the largest outpatient family therapy training center in the Bay Area. Josh is currently consulting to a cutting-edge research project looking at the effects of Internal Family Systems on chronic shame. He is bilingual in Spanish and English.
